Quality Q&A

WHAT STANDARDS ARE FOLLOWED BY SUREHIT WHEN MANUFACTURING AMMUNITION?

SureHit purchases ammunition components only from manufacturers who comply with industry performance standards published by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute, Inc. (SAAMI).  SureHit manufactures ammunition in full compliance with SAAMI standards.

DOES SUREHIT VERIFY THE QUALITY OF PURCHASED COMPONENTS?

Yes.  SureHit samples incoming materials and rejects batches that do not meet SureHit standards.  For example, SureHit purchases projectiles manufactured by Hornady, Barnes, CMJ, Speer, and others.  A sample of bullets are individually weighed on a digital scale.  The data are analyzed to determine the range of critical variables, such as weight, and the standard deviations.  A recent review shows analyses that were done for one batch of 1000 projectiles from CMJ and one batch of 1000 projectiles from Speer.  100 projectiles from each batch were weighed.  The SD for the CMJ bullets was .41; the SD for the Speer projectiles was .21.  Both batches were accepted by SureHit.  An SD of .5 grains or more would have caused either batch to be rejected by SureHit.
